We built our studio around two simple beliefs: that good design should feel warm rather than precious, and that caring for the planet and caring for our customers' pets aren't separate missions — they're the same mission, expressed in different ways. A Store Designed With Paws in Mind
Walk into Glassique Studio and the first thing you'll notice isn't glass display cases or sterile white walls — it's warmth.
Our reception and waiting area was designed less like a retail counter and more like a living room: deep upholstered seating, soft bouclé ottomans, and low plinths in natural travertine stone that double as casual perches rather than untouchable showpieces.
It's a space where a nervous rescue pup can find a quiet corner, and where a confident senior dog can flop down on the dark parquet floor while their owner browses frames in peace.
We chose materials with texture and tactility on purpose.
Cork-textured wall panels, plywood shelving, and woven cane detailing aren't just aesthetic choices — they're surfaces that feel forgiving, not fragile.
A wagging tail brushing past a plywood-edged shelf isn't a crisis here.
That's by design.
Our retail wall, with its illuminated display niches and reclaimed-look timber plinths, sits at a height that keeps frames safely out of curious noses while still letting pets roam the floor freely with their humans.
No barriers, no babygates, no "please wait outside" signs — just an open invitation.
Sustainability Isn't a Buzzword Here — It's a Building Material
Pet-friendliness and eco-consciousness might seem like two unrelated values, but at Glassique Studio they come from the same place: a respect for things that live alongside us, whether that's a Samoyed at our front desk or the planet most of us are trying to take a little better care of.
Our fit-out leans heavily on natural and low-impact materials — engineered timber, raw plywood edges left visible rather than disguised, plywood-and-cardboard textured shelving, and stone benchtops sourced for durability over decades, not seasons. We deliberately avoided high-gloss laminates and synthetic finishes that look perfect on day one and end up in landfill a few years later. A store that's built to last, repaired rather than replaced, is itself a small act of sustainability.
The same philosophy extends to how we think about eyewear.
Frames built from natural acetate, recycled metals, and bio-based materials sit alongside our classic collections — because choosing better materials for your face shouldn't be any different from choosing better materials for the floor beneath your feet.
More Than a Policy — A Genuine Welcome
Plenty of stores will tell you pets are "allowed." We'd rather show you they're wanted. Our team keeps treats on hand at the front desk, water is never more than a request away, and we've learned the names of more dogs in our neighbourhood than we probably should admit. We've watched shy cats peer out from carriers and gradually decide the shop is safe enough to explore, and we've fitted glasses for plenty of humans while their dog snored contentedly in a sunbeam by the window.
